ECO Platform - Newsletter December 2020
|
Dear Reader, "Unexpected, different, demanding and in the end, in some ways very positive." This may describe the year 2020 for many of us. We were dominated by a pandemic which caught us by surprise, but we made the best out of it. Considering environmental impacts, the Coronavirus probably helped us. First of all, we travelled less and learnt how to communicate effectively online. Secondly, we often had unexpected time for important things that usually fall short. And last, but not least, we all experienced a momentum for change: suddenly it was possible to think things afresh and to strike new paths. For ECO Platform the year 2020 will be noted as a year of remarkable achievements. Mainly, it will be remembered as the year that we digitalized. A good indication of the turbulent year was our Extraordinary General Assembly, held on November 24th. Originally scheduled to re-evaluate the unforeseeable impacts of the pandemic, we actually needed it to present and approve a lot of our achievements: our mission statements, our internal regulations, our new online communication and our new ECO Portal. We would like to thank our members and partners for their contributions that made our success possible. And even though we are still not sure about the further impacts of Covid-19, we are looking forward to a successful 2021. We wish all of you a Merry Christmastime and a healthy New Year. |

Extraordinary General Assembly 2020
As we have developed our digital solutions, the general boundaries have changed and our Mission Statement needed adjustment. With our member survey and the vision workshop which followed, we achieved maximum participation from our members. You can find the new Mission Statements on our homepage:
Olympia Dolla replaces Amina Aissani on Board of Directors ECO Platform welcomes Olympia Dolla to the Board of Directors. We are happy about the strong support we can expect from her. Olympia remarkably combines a deep experience in LCA with a strong connection to the more "political European landscape". She will help us mainly in the field of Public Affairs, our communication link towards policy, standardization and industry associations. Olympia works at Eurima and is representing the Trade Associations in our Board. She is replacing Amina Aissani, who stepped back for maternity reasons. We wish Amina all the best for her new challenges and thank her for her contribution in the past months. For more information about Olympia and our six other Directors refer to our homepage:
Homepage relaunchHave you visited our homepage recently? Then you will have realized that it has changed. But the changes go much further than it looks at a first glance. https://www.eco-platform.org/home.html Whilst launching the ECO Portal, we changed the system for communicating our ECO EPD. As a consequence, internal and external changes to our homepage were necessary. We combined the "must haves" with some "nice to haves". If you are curious just take some time and look at our new member page or the newsletter archive, where you will find a full archive of our past newsletters.
