The ECO Board of ECO Platform is formed by four representatives of the established EPD Programs and three representatives from the supporting members.
The Board has the steering function for the organizational matters, such as legal and financial issues, general objectives and strategy, risk management, sanctions, general communication, steering supervision of the platform management etc.
The Board delegates the technical issues to the Technical Working Group (TEWOG) and the Quality Management including the Audits to the Quality Manager and Chief Auditor.

Sven-Olof Ryding (President)
Sven-Olof is Associate Professor in System Ecology at the University of Uppsala. He has held several positions with regard to scientific work such as Ass. Prof. at the University of Linköping and Head of Research at the Swedish Environmental Research Institute, IVL.
Sven-Olof has been leading operational work as Senior Environmental Advisor at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprises and Managing Director for the Swedish Environmental Management Council, the former Swedish expert organization on Sustainable Procurement.
Sven-Olof has been engaged and led a number of international activities ans standardization work "with regard to sustainable development and procurement within EU, UN and bilateral work around the world.
Hakon Hauan (Vice President)
Hakon is Managing Director at The Norwegian EPD Foundation (EPD-Norge), located on Oslo, Norway.
Hakon studied International Economy and Administration at the Norwegian Business School in Oslo, including exchange program at ESADE in Barcelona and ICADE in Madrid and management studies at IMD, Lausanne.
Hakon has an extensive international career from 1992 as Director for Agfa Gevaert and Philips. Working for the Norwegian government as CEO for Innovation Norway in Spain, including responsibility for EEA grants/projects within Renewable Energy and Environment

Dr. Alexander Röder (Treasurer)
Alex has been Managing Director at IBU (Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V. Berlin, Germany) since February 2019.
Alex holds an LCA-related Ph.D. in science and a diploma in physics from ETH Zurich. He also has a diploma in business from the correspondence university at Hagen (DE).
Before joining IBU, Alex worked for 16 years for heavy building material producer CEMEX in various functions in energy, climate change and sustainability management. During this time he co-chaired the Cement Sustainability Initiative working group that together with the International EPD System pioneered the concept of a pre-verified EPD tool. He was also the founding Chair of the Concrete Sustainability Council and as such played a crucial role in the CSC‘s successful implementation of a global certification for responsibly sourced concrete.
Lorenzo is an Electronic Engineer, in ICMQ since 1999, currently with the role of President and General Manager of ICMQ SpA, a certification body operating in the construction sector and sectors connected to them.
He is the promoter of the agreements with ISI for the dissemination of the Envision protocol in Europe and with CSC for the implementation of the CRSS (Concrete Responsible Sourcing Scheme) certification in Italy, in addition to the establishment of EPDItaly, the Italian program operator.
He has been President of Conforma Association of certification, inspection, testing and calibration bodies.
He has been appointed from Conforma as Member of the Board of Directors of Accredia (the Italian accreditation body) since 2015.
Since 2001 he has been an ICMQ representative in Eurocerbuilding, the European Federation of Certification Bodies in the construction sector.

Amina is a Civil Engineer and holds a PhD in Applied Physics. She is specialized in Design Optimization, Decision making processes based on Structural Reliability and LCA.
As Technology and Standardization Manager, she is responsible for all standardization technical committees linked to insulation products (including sustainability), BIM and Buildings performance, she is also responsible for all verification tools, certification and labelling issues. Amina has also been involved in the development of LEVEL(s) and is managing the implementation of ‘sustainable use of natural resources’ for insulation products (BWR7 of the Construction product regulation).
Before joining Eurima, Amina has always worked for the construction sector and has a vision on different construction works (mainly Buildings, Bridges and Oil and gas platforms).
Martin is global head of the Sustainable Building & Construction practice of Sphera (formerly thinkstep AG). Since 2004 he supports private and public sector clients along the construction value chain (construction products manufacturers, architects, contractors, real estate investors) in tackling resource risks and enhancing their performance through higher resource productivity and a lower environmental footprint.
His consultancy covers support in the development of the EPD-scheme, the development of green building rating schemes (DGNB, Edge), green building auditing services, set up and maintenance of the ökobau.dat, development of EPDs for construction products manufacturers, EPD-automation solutions, integration of LCA/EPD-data into building design (BIM)
Thinkstep is founding member of IBU, the ECO Platform and the DGNB. It is chair of the product section in CENT TC 350, Sustainability of Construction Works and member of the Advisory board of IBU
Pat has 15 years experience within sustainable construction. Following time as a consultant at in London and Australia Pat established the eTool UK office. He has provided life cycle assessment, feedback, review and certification on over 60 building LCAs including HS2, The New Perth Stadium and the Sustainability Learning Centre.
Pat sits as an expert on BS 558 and is an active member of UKGBC task groups on net-zero and circular economy.
Pat recently joined the BRE as technical lead within the Sustainable Products team and is responsible for verifying EPDs, updating IMPACT datasets, and developing the LINA tool.
Through his project work Pat has helped quantify and save over 300,000 tCO2e.
Christian Donath (ECO Platform AISBL)
Christian studied civil engineering and worked in construction for over eight years. From 2008 until 2010 he was CEO of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). In 2009 he was appointed to the board of the World Green Building Council.
Christian is self-employed since 2010 as a Consultant in the fields of communication, data management and sustainability.
Christian participated actively in the founding process of the ECO Platform and serves as the Managing Director since the founding in 2013.
The founding process
In September 2011 a Memorandum of Understanding for the Foundation of the ECO Platform was signed by 27 parties.
The following 11 EPD Program Operators carried the idea forward in a transparent and democratic manner and founded the ECO Platform as an AISBL on June 4, 2013 in Brussels:
