Our Board of Directors

 

The Board has the steering function for the organizational matters, such as legal and financial issues, general objectives and strategy, risk management, sanctions, general communication, steering supervision of the platform management etc.

The Board delegates the technical issues to the Working and Task Groups and the Quality Management including the Audits to the Quality Manager and Chief Auditor.

The Board consists of up to nine directors representing

  • established ECO EPD Programmes
  • Industry
  • LCA Practitioners and Tool Providers
  • Green Building Councils and Rating Schemes.

 

Håkon Hauan (President)

Since 2015, Hakon is Managing Director at The Norwegian EPD Foundation (EPD-Norge), located on Oslo, Norway.

Hakon studied International Economy and Administration at the Norwegian Business School in Oslo, including exchange program at ESADE in Barcelona and ICADE in Madrid and management studies at IMD, Lausanne.

Hakon has an extensive international career from 1992 as Director for Agfa Gevaert and Philips. Working for the Norwegian government as CEO for Innovation Norway in Spain, including responsibility for EEA grants/projects within Renewable Energy and Environment.

Olympia Dolla (Vice President)

Olympia is an Environmental Scientist with a specialization on Sustainable Energy and Materials. She has studied thoroughly renewable energy resources and policies around them.

She is currently Sustainability Program Manager at Assa Abloy Opening Solutions. Prior to Assa Abloy, she was working for the Mineral Wool insulation industry (Eurima) and the Paints industry (CEPE) where she was responsible for activities around Sustainability and Circularity, LCA, Waste management and Recycling. She is also representing ARGE (European Association of Building Hardware) at the CEN TC 350 groups and Construction Products Europe (CPE) Sustainability groups.

She was PEF pilot leader for Decorative Paints and the manager of EF database for Chemicals for Paints (2.0 and 3.0). She has been deeply involved in EU Ecolabel and Green Public Procurement on behalf of the industry.

Olympia Dolla

Pascal Eveillard

Pascal Eveillard holds a master degree in management from ESCPBUSINESS SCHOOL and a post-master degree in communications. He joined the Saint-Gobain Group in 2000. Since January 2019, he is the Group Director for Sustainable Business Development. He contributes to develop and implement Saint-Gobain’s strategy to foster the market transition towards more sustainability, in particular on the construction markets.

He has been involved since many years in the World GBC network. He co-chairs the WBCSD working group on circular economy in the built environment. He was an active member in the steering committee of LEVEL(S), the European Commission’s framework of core indicators for sustainable buildings.

Pascal is the vice-chairman of EURIMA, the European Mineral Wool Insulation Manufacturers Association.

Lorenzo Orsenigo

Lorenzo is an Electronic Engineer, in ICMQ since 1999, currently with the role of President and General Manager of ICMQ SpA, a certification body operating in the construction sector and sectors connected to them.

He is promoter of agreements with ISI for dissemination of the Envision protocol in Europe and with CSC for the implementation of the CRSS certification in Italy, in addition to the establishment of EPDItaly, the Italian EPD program operator.

Lorenzo has been President of Conforma Association of certification, inspection, testing and calibration bodies, where he has been appointed to the BoD of Accredia since 2015.

Sebastiaan Stiller

Sebastiaan holds a MBA in Sustainability Management and has more than 15 years of international experience in sustainability management from academia, corporate and consulting within Environmental Services in Energy, Infrastructure and Manufacturing Industry.

Since 2021, he is CEO of EPD International AB, EPD programme operator of the International EPD System. Before, he had served as Sr. Business Developer at the Swedish Environmental Research Institute (IVL) with focus on LCM in critical raw materials and responsible/sustainable supply chain management.

As a generalist, he is passionate and energetic about translating strategic sustainability challenges into sustainable, impactful organisations and solutions. Sebastiaan speaks Dutch, English, German as well as Swedish and lives in Stockholm, Sweden.

Martin Blumberg (Treasurer)

Martin is head of the ESG & LCA Consulting practice of Ramboll. Since 2004 he supports private and public sector clients along the construction value chain.

His consultancy covers support in the development of the EPD-scheme, the development of green building rating schemes (DGNB, Edge), green building auditing services, set up and maintenance of the ökobau.dat, development of EPDs for construction products manufacturers, EPD-automation solutions, integration of LCA/EPD-data into building design (BIM)

Ramboll is a global engineering, architecture and consultancy company. Its 16,000 experts create sustainable solutions across Buildings, Transport, Water, Environment & Health, Architecture & Landscape and Energy.

Martin Blumberg

Pat Hermon

Pat has 15 years experience within sustainable construction. Following his time as a consultant, Pat established the eTool UK office. He has provided life cycle assessment, feedback, review and certification on over 60 building LCAs.

Pat sits as an expert on BS 558 and is an active member of UKGBC task groups on net-zero and circular economy.

Pat joined the BRE in 2020 as technical lead within the Sustainable Products team and is responsible for verifying EPDs, updating IMPACT datasets, and developing the LINA tool.

Through his project work Pat has helped quantify and save over 300,000 tCO2e.

Pat Hermon

Stefan Zwerenz

Stefan holds a Master of Engineering (M.Eng) in sustainable structures and has more than 15 years of experience in sustainability consulting within private and public sector.

Since 2022, he is Head of the verification body at IBU. Before he returned to IBU in this senior role, he helped developing the IBU digitalizing strategy from 2013 – 2018. In between, he worked as consultant and researcher, a.o. for the governmental fundings in the National Climate Protection Initiative (NKI).

As engineer Stefan is very structured, he was a driver of digitalization of EPDs from the beginning and is Co-Chair of the InData network Format TG. Furthermore, he is a member of the German standardisation committee for sustainable construction (NA BAU) at DIN and of the ÖKOBAUDAT Users Advisory Group.

Philippe Geoffroy

PEP Ecopassport is a Program Operator focusing on EEE/Electrical and Electronic Equipment and leads this space globally with ~2,000 EPDs/Environment Product Declarations in 17 Product categories. Philippe is one of the three vice-president of PEP Ecopassport (since 2021).

As Environmental Performance Director, Philippe is leading carbon reduction roadmap of Somfy Group, including lifecycle analysis of products, as well as circular economy and biodiversity strategies.

Philippe works for Somfy since 2011 where he first held the position of IP and Technical Innovation Director before shifting to Environmental Performance. Previously, he has worked in a domestic appliances company where he had to deal with energy efficiency, standby and substances regulations implemented in the products.

Christian Donath

Christian studied civil engineering and worked in construction for over eight years. From 2008 until 2010 he was CEO of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). In 2009 he was appointed to the board of the World Green Building Council.

Christian is self-employed since 2010 offering sustainability expertise and IT solutions for digital communication for the Construction Product Sector.

Christian participated actively in the founding process of the ECO Platform and serves as the Managing Director since the founding in 2013.

Sven-Olof Ryding

Sven-Olof is Associate Professor in System Ecology at the University of Uppsala. He has held several positions with regard to scientific work such as Ass. Prof. at the University of Linköping and Head of Research at the Swedish Environmental Research Institute, IVL.

Sven-Olof has been leading operational work as Senior Environmental Advisor at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprises and Managing Director for the Swedish Environmental Management Council, the former Swedish expert organization on Sustainable Procurement.

Sven-Olof has been engaged and led a number of international activities and standardization work "with regard to sustainable development and procurement within EU, UN, bilateral work around the world and founding president of ECO Platform.
